The high tides in the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel
It is particularly at the time of the high tides, following the work of restoration of the maritime character of Mont- Saint-Michel that you will appreciate the magic of the site. The high tides allow you, either at high tide to admire the Mount surrounded by water or, at low tide, the sea is withdrawing 15 km from the coast, discover the 240 km of foreshore and introduce you to fishing.
The foreshore, tidal zone or intertidal zone is that part of the coastline situated between the extreme limits of the highest and the lower tides. It is a specific biotope, which can house many natural sub-habitats.
At each high tide (coefficient greater than 100), it is a spectacular phenomenon that offers you the bay of Mont -Saint Michel.
