This mini-guide allows you to discover the museums and services available on Mont Saint-Michel. We indicate also parking access rates.

Access to Mont Saint-Michel

Your B&B is 12 km from the Mont parking lot. After parking your vehicle, you reach a bus stop called Place des Navettes which will take you free of charge to Mont Saint Michel. For timetables: click here

Parking rates. Please note that parking is free from 19:00 to 01:00, which is perfect for a
night visit.

Near the car park, an automatic deposit service is available (provide a 1 euro coin).

Access to the shuttles and the village is possible for people in wheelchairs but the climb to the abbey is only by stairs (there are no elevators).

Museums

- The archeoscope traces in images and animations, the construction over the centuries of Mont Saint Michel

- The historical museum allows you to visit the old dungeons, a small part of the old prison and you can go there discover the Periscope dating from the nineteenth century.

- Museum of the sea and the ecology to discover the problems of the silting of the Mount and the means implemented to correct it with strong audio and video animations.

- The Tiphaine house, home of Bertrand Duguesclin whose tapestries, paintings and period furniture (XIVth century) you will be immersed in the atmosphere.

The abbey

The abbey is the centerpiece of the Mont. It rises 80 meters above sea level and offers views
beautiful on the Bay.

The parish church St Pierre

This small church of the 15th century is less known than the abbey but it is visited with great delight.

Businesses

As in all tourist places, many shops offer souvenirs of your visit. They are concentrated
in the High Street.

Hotels and restaurants

Restaurants (8) and hotels (5) are also clustered near the entrance through the front door. To make your choice, do not hesitate to consult traveler’s reviews on TripAdvisor or comment platforms.

Tides

Mont Saint Michel is almost finished to regain its individuality; the schedules and coefficients of tides are to be consulted before all exits even near the Mont. For the year 2015, the Tourist Office of Mt St Michel has published a guide.
