Guide of the Tour de France 2016 from Mont St Michel.

On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of July, the Tour de France will cross the English Channel from South to North and vice versa. 2 billion viewers will see this event also followed by more than 600 media including 120 TV channels.

The runners will travel 435kms on these three days where 2 cities of the Channel will even see the riders twice(Granville and Lessay).

The Grand Départ will take place on 2nd july from the parking lots of the Mont. Runners will use the bridge  before return to the car parks and turn to Pontaubault (by the way, they will pass 50 meters from the guest house). They will then join Avranches then Genêts, Jullouville and Granville. Always on the coastal road, they will go to Ste Marie du Mount through Bricqueville sea, Montmartin sea, Agon Coutainville, Gouville sea, receivables, Lessay, Doville, St Sauveur le Vicomte, Ham and Quineville. They will then join Ste-Mère-Eglise, this small village known for
paratroopers who jumped there in 1944 (remember the film "the longest day") before joining Chef du Pont, Ste Marie du Mont and arrive on Utah Beach.

After this stage of 188kms, the Tour will leave St Lô the next day.

3rd July second leg with 9kms of planned routes in the city-departure: St Lô from 12:30. This step is 182 kms from the center-sleeve to the sea to the north with an arrival in Cherbourg. After St-Lô, the Tour will continue its race through Condé-sur-Vire, Torigni-sur-vire, Tessy-sur-Vire, Montabot (best climber), Percy, Abbaye de Hambye, Roncey, Coutances, Montsurvent, Lessay, St Germain sur Ay, Portbail (intermediate sprint), Barneville-Carteret, Pious, Dielette, Helleville, St. Croix-Hague, Querqueville before arriving in Cherbourg.

On 4th July, the Tour will resume its race from Granville, it will pass by beauchamps, Champrepus, Villedieu-les-Poêles, Brecey, St Hilaire du Hacouet, Les Loges Marchis before leaving the Channel before heading to Angers (222 kms stage).
